Posted: 16 May 2016
A dream realised, our Elegant Journeys – Autumn Collection tours blend scenic open roads, grand hotels, villas, castles and lodges, world-class cuisine and extraordinary once-in-a-lifetime experiences, all set against backdrops of outstanding, fiery autumnal scenery in the English Cotswolds, Italian Dolomites and Highlands of Scotland.
Painstakingly crafted here at Elegant Resorts, each specially commissioned journey is truly unique and strictly limited to a maximum of just twelve guests (utilising six Aston Martins, specifically supplied by Aston Martin for the duration of the trips). Guests will drive these iconic sports cars throughout the journeys and will have the added assurance of technical support from Aston Martin and the services of a dedicated concierge team from Elegant Resorts on each of the tours.
The four-night England All Stars journey (4th to 8th September 2016) explores the heritage, beauty and refinement of the quintessential English countryside, and begins with a stay in the heart of London, followed by a helicopter trip to historic Blenheim Palace, a luncheon and a private tour of this magnificent example of historic British architecture, which is the birthplace the iconic English prime minister, Sir Winston Churchill. Exploring the rural idylls of the Cotswolds and staying at beautiful country house properties thereafter, guests will be hosted at an exclusive black tie dinner by Robert Laycock, a member of the Fleming family, and enjoy a private screening of a James Bond film, visit Aston Martin’s state-of-the-art headquarters at Gaydon in Warwickshire, enjoy a private tour of the factory, then spend the evening in the company of Marek Reichman, Aston Martin’s Sheffield-born Chief Creative Officer, responsible for overseeing the introduction of an iconic new collection of Aston Martin models in recent years, including the Vanquish, track-only Vulcan and the Rapide S.
On the new, five-night, Italy Unpacked tour (13th to 18th September 2016), guests will discover the breathtakingly pretty lakes and mountains of a scenic pocket of northern Italy, including picturesque Lake Garda and the dramatic Dolomites, with its smooth, snaking roads that weave across majestic Alpine scenery. Perfect for gourmands and those who love immersing themselves in scenic natural beauty, this journey includes an evening tour of a vineyard and optional wine-tasting, an exclusive dinner hosted by Marek Reichman, Chief Creative Officer at Aston Martin, a private sunset cruise with drinks and canapés on Lake Garda, along with private meals in Michelin-starred gourmet restaurants. Throughout the trip, guests will be staying in a beautiful selection of properties, ranging from two stunning, very different, Relais & Châteaux properties (a stunning, centuries-old retreat in the heart of a vineyard and a luxurious Alpine retreat in an exclusive village high in the Italian Alps), to a magnificent villa in a premier position on the banks of breathtaking Lake Garda.
In October, the focus turns to Scotland and the magnificent scenery of the Highlands and Isle of Skye on our five-night Scottish Legends journey (25th to 30th October 2016). Privileged guests will be captivated, not only by the picture-perfect lochs and glens, but by the incredibly luxurious retreats we have selected for them to reside at throughout the trip, from an iconic five star hotel in the heart of Edinburgh, to a delightful lodge in the wilds of Skye and an exclusively hired castle on the banks of Loch Ness. To complement the warm Scottish hospitality that guests will experience, we have arranged a selection of exclusive events that are sure to add to the many highlights of the trip, such as a privately hosted luncheon with the charismatic Duke and Duchess of Argyll in the private apartments of their Highland home, Inveraray Castle (which was also featured in the final series of the internationally acclaimed British television series, Downton Abbey), a cookery lesson with respected Michelin-starred chef, Marcello Tully, an optional tasting of rare whiskies in the company of Chivas Regal’s VIP Relationship Director, Peter Prentice, a falconry display and a traditional Scottish gala dinner and bagpipes recital at Aldourie Castle to conclude the journey.
Choosing between these thrillingly eclectic journeys will surely be a challenge for discerning driving enthusiasts and owners of Aston Martins, as each offers an immersive cultural experience of three, very different, countries, with the rare opportunity to get behind the wheel of a dynamic, glamorous and beautifully crafted Aston Martin. Whether you wish to hire an Aston Martin for the trip or drive your own, whichever itinerary you choose, you are assured of an unforgettable journey in the lap of the finest luxury imaginable, complemented by the most diligent concierge services and support from Aston Martin and Elegant Resorts throughout every mile of the tour – an unbeatable collaboration for bespoke journeys of this nature between two of the most iconic, well-respected British luxury brands.
