Luxury Family-friendly Holidays In Cyprus

Getting the right balance of quality time together – and apart – is perhaps one of the secrets of a good family holiday, and Elegant Resorts can help you to choose a luxury hotel with plenty of facilities to keep both children and parents happy. Our Senior Product Manager, Tara Taylor, has many recommendations for family holidays and amongst them is, of course, Europe... it’s the obvious choice for most of us, and for good reason! It’s close to home and the minimal time difference means that nobody will suffer from jet-lag, so you can start enjoying your luxury holiday from the minute you arrive.

A particularly good place to go is the island of Cyprus where you can look forward to long sunny days that extend well into the autumn, glorious beaches and plenty of history. To avoid the masses, check-in to Anassa in the relatively undeveloped Polis area. Reflecting the spirit of a Cypriot village Anassa boasts a main square, a Byzantine chapel and accommodation that gently cascades down the hillside towards Chrysochou Bay – one of Cyprus’s best beaches.

Anassa's Two-bedroom Family Suites are an excellent choice, while the ‘Baby Go Lightly’ service allows you to pre-order items including a pushchair, baby toiletries and DVDs, ready for your arrival. Little ones will love the Explorers Club that offers a crèche for 4-month to 2-year-olds, as well as kids’ clubs for 3 to 12-year-olds with age-appropriate activities such as crafts, baking and sports, while teens can relax at Escape which has a pool table, Nintendo Wii and large-screen television. Lunch and snacks are provided at the clubs, but Amphora and Pelagos restaurants serve tasty family dinners – perfect after family adventures such as water-skiing lessons together or playing on the beach.

Meanwhile, grown-up time can be spent in the Thalasso Spa, playing tennis or shopping for labels including Prada at the hotel boutique. Perhaps you’d also like to explore the local area? Those interested in mythology will find the Baths of Aphrodite nearby and the hotel can arrange activities including Jeep safaris through the Troodos Mountains and wine-tasting at the monastery of Chrysorroyiatissa.

About Tara

Tara has always had a passion for travel and it's the direction she knew she was destined for from an early age. She's worked in travel for over 20 years, the majority of those being in luxury travel, and has worked in both reservations and product departments, covering all corners of the globe. She joined Elegant Resorts in 2009 and has spent time as Product Manager for Europe & North Africa and the Indian Ocean, and is now responsible for our Caribbean and Arabian Gulf portfolios, as well as overseeing operations in our Barbados office. Her favourite destination changes every time she visits a new place, however she still has a deep rooted love for Paris − and even though she has been travelling there at least once a year since the age of 16, it never fails to sweep her off her feet as she discovers something new on every visit!
