For centuries Paris has beguiled its guests with gastronomic pleasures and cultural excellence, but never before has the allure of the Orient demanded such a similar degree of applause. That is until now, with the arrival of Mandarin Oriental’s first hotel in Paris gaining many new admirers. Flanking the pavement of the city’s most distinguished boulevard, Rue Saint Honoré and surrounded by haute couture, just steps from the Louvre and the famous Opera Garnier, the hotel spans eight floors, making Mandarin Oriental one of the larger luxury hotels in Paris. It’s a hotel which grants guests a truly Parisian experience, while as ever, a hint of exoticism prevails. With Michelin-starred restaurants, a luxurious spa, its very own patisserie and a marble-clad bar, Mandarin Oriental embodies a demeanour that utterly defines modern-day Paris.

City Life

For centuries Paris has been at the forefront of invention and reinvention; it is a city of style and trend-setters. So it doesn't come as too much of a surprise that 21st Parisiens have decided to move on and mix-up the cuisine-scene, by totally abolishing standard styles of fine-dining. Dotted across the city, visitors can find exclusive and exceedingly covert dining venues that cater for groups of between eight and sixteen. Frequently, the guests don’t even know each other and the dining location isn’t disclosed until the last minute – details are arranged by your host, mostly via email. Defined under the name of a ‘private supper club’ such events are easy to find on the internet and provide a perfect way to discover hidden areas of Paris, as well as delicious French cuisine and an eclectic, engaging group of people.

Children are welcome here and the concierge will recommend the best family-orientated places to visit in Paris – no doubt including some of Paris’ sumptuous chocolate shops. Baby-cots, fold-out beds, crayons, books and PlayStations are all available and interconnecting rooms can be arranged on request.
