The excellent game at Mombo Camp has made this area Botswana's top wildlife documentary location. National Geographic, the BBC and many others have filmed here, regarding Mombo Camp as having some of the best all-year-round game-viewing in Africa. With the added bonus of being the only place in Botswana where the 'Big Five' can be seen, Mombo's game-viewing is not only unique, but constantly superb throughout the year.
Abundant big-game-viewing is possible in all seasons, with the highlight of the area being the vast concentrations of all the plains game and their predators - especially big cats. Lion and leopard sightings are particularly good, with resident prides of lions being seen on virtually every game-drive, and leopards being so undeterred by people that they have been seen walking straight through camp (on one occasion, actually sitting on the dining table!). Guests can also see large herds of buffaloes, cheetahs, wild dogs, elephants, White and Black Rhino, hyenas, giraffes, wildebeest and zebras. Birdlife is prolific here, with waterfowl and waders being particularly common.
