Whether by foot or vehicle, the resort’s Guides will give you a deeper understanding of Ras Al Khaimah’s culture and heritage. Off-road vehicles will escort you through the beautiful Al Wadi Nature Reserve and the sand dunes of the desert where date farms, lush pools of water, ghaf trees, historical sites and local cultural points of interest are waiting to be discovered. If you prefer to trek, there are guided walks through the Al Wadi Nature Reserve where a host of birds and creatures as large as a gazelle and as small as desert insects, make their home. For a slightly more strenuous walk, there is Al Janas Mountain, which is a short drive from the resort, where you can walk to the peak and discover an ancient village. Or, trek through the valley of the Hajar Mountains and discover impressive giant boulders. You can also try your hand at desert activities including falconry and archery.

For those wishing to go sailing, there are abra sunset cruises and boats can be chartered for deep-sea fishing. If you prefer to play about on the sand, there is the opportunity to play beach soccer and beach volleyball.

Historical Sites
Ras Al Khaimah’s majestic forts and museums each have a s story to tell; set on a mountain overlooking the Gulf, the Dhayah Fort was built in the 16th century to fight British troops. Built in the middle of the 18th century, during the emirate's invasion by Persians, the National Museum of Ras Al Khaimah also housed the Royal family until 1964. Today it is considered to be the wealthiest monumental museum in the UAE, exhibiting a number of ancient ornaments, discovered in the emirate.
